Las Trojas Cantina in Atdens

Food and service were excellent as always. I try to stop here at least a couple times each time I stay in Athens. I've tried a variety of things off the menu trying to work my way through a sample of it. it's too long to cover the whole thing but I have yet to be disappointed. Be prepared if you haven't been there before. the portions are large and you can be surprised by how much food you get. Great place. Only con is they play music obnoxiously loud all the time. It's hard to carry on a conversation for it. But the food makes up for it.

I at here yesterday and was very impressed. I work in a kitchen and the food that came to our table was flawless. Wait staff was also very friendly! I forgot to tell them to thank the cooks so I'll do it now thank you for the wonderful meal. Was my first visit. Will definitely come back if I'm passing through that way again.

If I could leave a 0, I definitely would.. while sitting here trying to enjoy chips and salsa as usual.. I had a sworn of at least 2-3 different kinds of bugs fly and land all around the salsa on the table. I held it in hoping that it would stop, but about half way through eating my supper, at least 5-6 more different kinds of bugs landed on my table. I also killed 3 and left them there for the manager to enjoy... VERY GROSS.😡

Really great service and absolutely delicious food. I ordered the Alandro (I'm afraid I might be spelling that wrong!) and it was so good! The spices we're just perfect. The restaurant was bright and full of color. We'll definitely be back!

Sam was a great server, very friendly and attentive. Margarita's were awesome and so was the food. Highly recommend!

I met up with family here for an early dinner recently. Las Trojas has the normal Mexican family restaurant fare. I shared a large burrito, we asked for salsa verde on top instead of red sauce, but it wasn't very flavorful. Really the burrito itself didn't taste like much, so it might not be their strongest item. They did have good chips and salsa! The waiters were very attentive and service was pretty fast.

I sat at the bar. And I literally had to ask for everything. Can I have a menu, can I get another drink, I'm ready to order. I took us 45 mins sitting at the bar to get our food. When I finished my drink I had ask excuse me, can I get another drink. The bar tender sucked. He did not serve us at all

Great food as always. Los Trojas reminds me of the food in Mexico with a little American Tex-Mex added. If you like spicy (picante) they can make it that way! Best Mexican I’ve found in the South.

Great lunch with the family. Delicious food, and lots of it. Great service and fair prices. Music was a little too loud today but it isnt usually that loud. There were eight of us and we were seated fairly quickly for a Sunday afternoon. Lots of room inside.

They weren't busy when we came in today. The food was good. The waiter was nice and did not bug us. I think it was pricey. But that's my opinion. Otherwise I would have given 5 star. Today is September 04, 2018 We went in about 4:30. I think that's the perfect time if you don't want a big crowd.

Horrible experience. Had to wait an hour before we got our drinks, then it took forever to get our supper, then couldn't get take out boxes or our checks without having to get a manager. We wont be back.

It was the best Mexican restaurant that I have ever eaten at. The food was delicious. The service was great and they serve enough that I have enough for dinner tomorrow also. Will most definitely be going back there. The people there make you feel like family. GREAT RESTAURANT!!!!

This place is awesome. I always swing by when I'm in town. They have large portions, low prices, and they have huge beers. I recommend ordering the elephant foot sized beer.

I had visit this restaurant with my cousins and they are superb. Large menu with number of delicious foods but quite expensive. Delicious food with large portions. Value of money !!

Got a takeout order 4 dinners they forgot to put the tortitas in the orders had to go back the second time

Very busy and very loud on Sat night. Service was good despite the crowd. Wish they would turn up the spice/flavor a little on their chicken dishes. Beans and guac - mmm.

I cannot sing the praises of Las Trojas enough. The service AND the food are great EVERY SINGLE TIME. I have been going for years and have yet to encounter a single problem.Rey and Ezekiel are superb, as are so many of the other staff members.

Had the enchiladas supremo to go. Large portions, including the chips and salsa as if I actually ate there. Thoughtfully packaged to keep cold items, dry items and saucy items segregated. Also provided chips and salsa while I sat at the bar waiting for my food.

We ate there when visiting my parents for christmas. The food was outstanding, great service. Everyone at our table brought home leftovers, it was more than we could eat but we weren't complaining.

Always fantastic. Whether we eat in or order takeout, the food always comes out fresh, hot, and accurate. Their menu is massive, and I've yet to find anything that is less than delicious. If you haven't tried the Angel's Plate, go now. For real. The staff is super friendly, and the adult beverages are made well. This is my favorite Mexican restaurant in North Alabama.Update: they're having some serious website issues, so I thought I'd share the menu. I think I missed a section, but the menu is so big I lost track.

This place is awesome! The guacamole at the table is the coolest. And the taquitos were the best I've EVER had.. no one tell my mexican mother. Yum!!

This resturant is great for groups and families. They offer a variety of dishes that are naturally gluten free though they do not have any allergy indicators on the menu. It is a very comfortable atmosphere. They are most notable for their elephant foot beer glasses.

Been coming to this restaurant for years. Lately the workers are unorganized and rude. Definitely lack customer service skills. I won’t be back.

Food is not what it once was at this restaurant. Thought we would try it one more time...not very busy and bathroom had no soap or paper towels so employees couldn’t even wash their hands. Taco salad was very watery.

The food is delicious and fresh, and the alcohol is flowing. The margaritas are delicious!!! The scenery here is awesome, and everyone's happy and full of love. This place is going to put a hurting on the local selection out of sheer magnificence. Javier is the man !!!

So good! The hawaiin quesadilla is delicious and huge! This whole plate plus refried beans and rice was on Saturday special for under 8 dollars. Beautiful decor, clean restaurant and quick service.

I have had some really good food from here...last trip wasn't one of those good trips.

I've gone back and forth with my love of this place. It has been awhile since visiting and there have been a few notable changes to the menu so it appears to be improving. Overall, its beautifully decorated, servers are great and just a nice atmosphere.

The food, service, and atmosphere are always great! The servers will remember you and treat you like friends, if you frequent often enough like we do! If you grew up locally, it's impossible to get in and out without seeing someone you know. Great for socializing with ALL OF ATHENS! LOL They are great with large parties as well! Their fishbowl margaritas and elephant foot beers are must tries, but be sure to have a DD! ;)
